DfE Careers Bulletins – Hospitality/Tourism and Entrepreneurship

The Careers Occupational Information Unit (COIU) has published two more bulletins, which focuses on careers relating to Hospitality and Tourism, and Entrepreneurship in Northern Ireland:

The Hospitality and Tourism Bulletin features include:

  • Tourism in NI insight from John McGrillen, CEO Tourism NI
  • Reasons to consider a career in hospitality and tourism, article by Roisin McKee, Project Director HATS (Hospitality and Tourism Skills Network)
  • Overview of careers options in hospitality and tourism sector
  • Sectoral insight – video clips
  • Wide variety of hospitality and tourism career and apprentice profiles
  • Higher education insight – Simon Russell, Course Director for International Hospitality Management programme at Ulster University
  • Information on entry routes into the hospitality and tourism sector and useful resources for further research.

The Entrepreneurship Bulletin features include:

  • Entrepreneur case studies (including college/university students, some of whom launched their ventures during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Articles from local organisations that form part of NI’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, such as Women in Business, Princes Trust, Invest NI, Enterprise NI and Catalyst
  • Information on pathways to entrepreneurship, including educational programmes available in colleges/universities across NI to support the development of entrepreneurial skills.
